                                          RECRUITMENT RULES FOR THE SECRETARY GENERAL, GTF.                                          .

 

Qualifications:                                         .

 

Essential: (i) Post Graduate degree in Forestry/Wildlife/Environmental Science/Management (ii) Minimum work experience of 8 years in administration and management of tiger/wildlife conservation. (iii) Experience in and knowledge of policies and programmes of tiger conservation .

 

Desirable: (i) Capability and exposure of managing and administering an organisation (ii) Ability to mobilize resources (iii) Experience in fund raising (iv) International, especially within South and South-East Asia, exposure (v) Ability to induct dynamism in the GTF, display leadership qualities, and be able to accept new challenges. Capability to work equally well with conservation groups and coordinate with govt. agencies and national and international institutions in fulfilling the objectives of tiger conservation. (vi) As the role of the GTF is to provide an important platform for sharing knowledge amongst tiger range countries and in facilitating cross border cooperation on tiger conservation, the incumbent should have the qualities necessary to be a good team player, able to work remotely from those delivering on the ground conservation, both in conservation groups and increasingly importantly within national Governments and their agencies (vii) Knowledge of International Conventions and Agreements related to wildlife conservation. .

 

Method of Recruitment: The post will be notified to all tiger range countries to get and short list names. The selection will be carried out by the Executive Committee. .

 

Age: 45 to 62 years. However, a mid career person would be preferred as against a retired person. .

 

Term of Appointment 3 years: The position is performance based; any extension will be based on an evaluation carried out by the Executive Committee. No extension beyond the age of 65 years.
